Since everyone and their brother is currently obsessed with writing open love letters to extremely random and, often ridiculous things, I took it upon myself to dedicate this blog post to my FitBit.
For as long as I can remember I’ve been extremely active. My poor mom can vouch for this fact as she fell victim to lugging me to each soccer tournament and tennis round-robin year-round. In fact, for 3 years in high school I was actively participating in different soccer leagues year-round. Point is: I was active. So you can imagine that with all of this activity, I was very fit for my age. Which presented a rude awakening my freshman year of college. Being presented to the lack of healthy options at the Pit, along with no organized sports practices, AND consistent partying on the weekends was an unhealthy combo that I was not used to.
Fast forward to my JUNIOR year of college (I refuse to believe this) and I’m abroad in Europe. Vienna is a city known extremely well for its “cake and coffee” culture. And I LOVE cake… But this is where things are different than they were my freshman year of college.
Insert my FitBit Blaze, given to me by my brother. It has so many gadgets and trinkets, I swear I could play with it all day. It’s comparable to the Apple watch honestly, and may even be better… It tracks my steps, my sleep, my calories burned, miles covered, and so much more. Having this handy-dandy little watch on my arm has made me more accountable of not only how much I exercise and burn each day, but also what I eat. The app on my phone tracks my weekly steps (which surpass 19k) and also creates small competitions between other friends to see who walks the most each week.
I love you FitBit! Thank you for preventing the Junior 15, because that totally would have happened to me!!!!!
My progress as of so far:
(Steps accomplished, distance walked, calories burned)
